Server Update: Counter-Strike 1.6 got some love!

Hello! An update of our servers just got pushed! This update is mainly for Counter-Strike 1.6, but some minor changes were also done for CS:Source (v34).

To keep it short (as a more detailed one is just below), the PUG servers are brought back as we’ve finally figured out what caused the issue. Also, a rework was also done to improve the user-experience as well as fixing issues.

Counter-Strike 1.6

General

  • NoSteam players can also download custom assets properly now.
  • Updated ad-sprites & their positioning, in order to be not only more qualitative overall, but also less distracting for players.
  • Updated the BOTs to the latest preview build.
  • Reworked the sounds effects plugin to add custom sounds & messages upon specific events (they can be disabled using /sounds ). Not all server do have them !
  • Both Automix servers are FINALLY back!

FFA / Public server

  • Removed de_pglzone, de_nuke_rarea, de_westwood2020.
  • Added de_westwood.
  • Added Reset Score (/rs) support (VIPs only).
  • Increased freezetime from 2s to 3s.
  • Startmoney is lowered from $2500 to $1800. (VIPs start with $2000).

AIM/AWP/FY server

  • Removed the following maps: aim_magnumer,aim_frag4you, aim_-35C, aim_brickbridge, aim_dgl, aim_mw_pistols, awp_lego_2_winter as they do not have a good layout.
  • Server now uses a smaller mappool with more popular maps when empty.
  • Fixed an issue where some weapons were not properly saved upon a death.
  • Default weapons options in the weapon menu is disabled when playing fy_ maps or in very specific maps.
  • Fixed a problem where the MP5 and the Glock might not working properly on the menus.
  • AWP are now limited to 2 per team (VIPs are exempt of this restriction). This will obviously not be applied to awp_ maps.
  • Rounds now lasts for 2 minutes instead of 1:30, with the exception of fy_ maps now lasting for 2:30 minutes.
  • Freeze time now lasts 2.5 seconds, instead of 1 second.
  • Fall damage is now disabled.
  • Custom sounds are disabled.

CS:Deathmatch

  • Replaced cs_assault with cs_assault_jpn. (Map is also added to the maplist, not only when the server is empty).
  • Added de_pyramid_cs16 to the maplist (can only be triggered when server is populated with 14+ players).
  • Fall damage is disabled.
  • Hostages should be despawned on cs_ maps
  • Killstreak sounds only happen after 3/5/8/10/15/20/25/30 kills.

ScoutzKnivez

  • Fall damage is now disabled.
  • Added Reset Score (/rs) support (VIPs only).

GunGame

  • Fixed a major performance issue on the server after a level change.
  • Fall damage is disabled.
  • Removed gg_justsnow from the maplist.

Counter-Strike: Source (v34)

FFA

  • Removed de_lite_rc1, de_russka from the maplist.

Automix

  • Removed de_lite_rc1, de_nuke_old_blue_ep2.
  • Updated de_russka to an updated (final?) version from CPL, as the build from gamebanana is actually outdated by 2 years and is missing features.
  • Added de_lite.
  • Slightly reordered the maplist.
REGARDING DE_RUSSKA

We heavily recommend you deleting your copy of de_russka if you already have it, to prevent checksum issues.

Oops, sentence got cut off… It was simply because these maps do not have a minimum build quality after rechecking the spawns or their map layout, so I decided to remove them. If there are maps that could be added to the server, do not hesitate to show them!

And true ! I wanted to bring them back a long time ago but the binary issue was driving me crazy. Hopefully more people will be able to replay them in the near future, but it’ll have to be played at another time in order to not start it at the same time of CSSv34 pugs..

Oh, speaking of CSSv34… Next update will be making a captain system for CSSv34, and I’m already afraid of how it’ll go, haha.
